I have decided to research and look into the way magazines were laid out on front cover pages and how they had been designed over the years all the way back to the 1900's. This allowed me to see the development of magazines up to today and see the major changes that have taken place. By doing this, I was able to see how men and women were and now are portrayed in society and the media and how this portrayal has evolved, to give me an insight into how the models on my own magazine should be represented - the timeline of front covers is helpful to see what readers are drawn to seeing on a front cover and so I will use it as a guide of how my models should be dressed, how they should pose, how to lay out my masthead, cover lines, etc.
